Brittany Robart
The Songbird

Hello world- I am Brittany Robart.
I am a singer/songwriter, a unique musician, I play piano by ear but from the heart- I am the songbird.
I flutter through life, helping others choose happiness and using my songs to ease whom ever stops to listen.
I live and breathe music... It is the dream that I happily chase.
I sing from my soul. My music will move you, because everyone hurts, everyone loves, everyone feels. My music is real.

I began singing as a little girl, barefoot and brave growing up in the tropics of Indonesia.
My musical world exploded when we moved to Canada and I began acting with Storbook Theater.
I graced the stage as the fearless Anne in Anne of Green Gables, a wickedly stupid step-sister in Cinderella and was proud to be part of the world premier of the Jungle Book directed by Louis B. Hobson.
I also kicked-butt in the Kiwanis Music Festival, often winning my classical and musical theatre classes.
I had the best of the best for my teacher; the amazing Patrice Barnes, who has shaped my voice into what it is today.
I was lucky to compete in the Stampede Talent Search as a teen and performed with the dreamy Josh Groban when he toured to Calgary in 2004.
I had my own chance to tour with my high school choir across Canada and to the states to compete in the Idaho International Jazz Festival.

Throughout the years I have been exposed to multiple genres of music- and... I love all genres of music!!
I was trained to sing classically, I was taught that jazz don't mean a thing if it aint of that swing.
I grew up on pop; girl bands, boy bands, bootylicious dance music.
I love soul, blues and music with no words; a smyphony of dance... still a little peice of me even loves Musical Theater!

So how do I bring all my music lovers together? Well the first time didn't work out as well as I'd hoped.
My first album in 2008 did bring many successes. I met and shared the stage with some amazing musicans like Crystal McGrath and Jared Nicklen of Boy & Gurl, Kaley Kinjo, Michael Bernard Fitzgerald and King Don Juan. I performed in multiple venues including Cowboys and the Blind Beggar- and fell in love with donating my voice to extra special charity events. I sold over $25000 records!
But- I was scared to death. Scared to show myself and bare my soul through my music.
I had no idea how to take all my vocal abiltes and blend them into one.
But the talented Brad Taylor at MCC in Calgary helped work with me to produce a fun first album to showcase what I could do at the time.

Fast forward to now... and I am taking it to the next level! Reaching deep into my heart and facing my past heartbreaks and that falling in love feeling- I am mixing all types of music together to provide my fans with a rollercoster of vocal emotions from my mouth to your ears.
Romantic violin, drums that take you into battle and the sound of tears that you wont see when you listen, but you'll know they were there.
"Take me Home" will be available on itunes and HMV February 2012.

Songbirds sing because they are happy, they sing when the sunshines, they sing when the sun goes down and the world is cold.
They sing. They were born to sing, created to sing.
I am the songbird.
Enjoy my music always.
xoxo
